The Salutations Home concept was started over two decades ago. With an Art History degree from UC Berkeley and a decade of management and buying experience with Bloomingdales, New York, and Carroll & Co., Beverly Hills, Carey Pearlman founded Salutations Ltd. in Beverly Hills in 1983. The success of the 300-square foot card and gift shop soon led to a larger site.
In 1986, Salutations moved to Brentwood, where it soon became a Westside institution. With 1300-square feet, the store expanded to include imported and domestic ceramics, linens, personal and home accessories, gift books, infant clothing and gift baskets. In 1989, Salutations doubled its size to 2600-square feet, adding a custom stationery department and corporate gift division that became popular among corporate and entertainment clients.
By March 1998, Salutations Home opened its flagship store in the affluent retail area of South Lake Avenue in Pasadena, in the old Port of Call site. It quickly became a cornerstone in the Pasadena community, and continues to offer quality home furnishings,
imported tabletop, fine linen, stationery, and an exceptional children’s collection.
The Salutations, Home website is continuously updated to offer the current “best sellers” in many categories, and all Salutations customers now have access to the best of both worlds.
